A Nimble 9 Bike Build – Pt. 1

by

Yes, I am putting together another Canfield Brothers Bike. This time it’s the Nimble 9. This will have to be part 1 of 2 regarding this particular build as I am waiting on a couple of parts and there is still snow on the ground in beautiful Southwest Colorado. But maybe it will give some people ideas on their own Nimble 9 build.

OK, What is the Nimble 9? Steel frame. 29″ Wheels. Super short chain stay. Sliding/removeable dropouts. B.A.

This build will be a 1×9 setup. My wife calls it a “Graphic Designers” bike for sure, but you be the judge.

The Build:

  • Small Nimble 9 frame (Electric Lime)
  • Fox Talas 29er fork
  • Stans Arch 29er Wheelset
  • Sram X9 Crankset w/ Homebrewed Components Chain Ring
  • MRP 1x Chain Guide
  • Avid Elixer 7 disc brakes
  • Sram X9 shifter
  • Sram X0 rear derailleur
  • Cane Creek 110 Headset
  • Sunline XC-1 Stem
  • Sunline V1 OS flat bar
  • Lizard Skin Grips
  • Sram 990 Cassette
  • Thomson Elite Seatpost
  • Brooks Saddle
  • Generic Salsa-like Seatpost Clamp

Let me know what you think so far. Can not wait to ride this thing. The last of the parts should be in next week and hopefully the snow South in New Mexico melts a bit so I can session this guy soon! Also, look for the Nimble 9 29er Touring build coming soon!

  1. eh…Steel vs. Alu…Also, the Nimble 9 has a lot of options if I want to change the drive train in the future (singlespeed, ect.).
